Professor Akin Akakin is one of the leading names in the field of neurosurgery, specializing in the treatment of brain tumors, aneurysms, Parkinson’s disease, and cerebral palsy. He began his academic career at the University of Marmara Medical School, where he earned his medical degree and specialized in neurosurgery, before completing his studies abroad at the University of Florida in the field of neurosurgery and neuroanatomy. He worked in a number of prestigious hospitals such as Göztepe Medical Park Hospital, VM Medical Park Pendik Hospital and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Hospital, in addition to his academic work at Marmara University. Thanks to his scientific and medical achievements, in 2011 he received the Asia-Europe Academy of Neurosurgery Award, cementing his position as one of the most prominent neurosurgeons in his field.
